ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's just me, but I am under the impression that there is a much larger collection of imaginative literature for young people today. (Or I wanted to grow up too soon and skipped alot of good books when I was young.) I have really enjoyed the books that I read with my daughter for our book club. They present so many wonderful scenarios and possibilities. I felt the title of the last one we read by Sharon Creech summed it up so beautifully in it's title "Bloomability". I agree, Susan, that Creech has a wonderful gift for writing that humors us and inspires us.
ReplyDeleteWow, Susan! This is a wonderful tool to record your thoughts for your friends AND your children to read. Your personal thoughts and feelings change with every turn of life and it will be fun to look back and see where you were and how you've grown. Memories fade with time, but this will be a constant record and an excellent learning experience for you and your children. Congratulations on taking a step into this "new stuff." I'm not there yet (but I can handle e-mail).
ReplyDeleteLaura, if you can post a comment on a blog, you ARE there. This is all very, very new to me. I set up a blog in Nov. 2006, but that's all I knew how to do. I deleted my original (awful) entry and started fresh.

Lori, I've heard of Bloomability but I don't think my girls read it, but I will double check with them. I sometimes I feel as if I am going through my second childhood as I read these stories because they are so wonderful.
