Last week, I received three books in the mail. Perhaps that's not a lot by "book blogger standards", but it's plenty for me. :) I received two copies of 7 Years Younger by the editors of Good Housekeeping from Bostick Communications. I'll be hosting a giveaway for my extra copy (I may be seven years younger by then) and possibly mentioning a spa giveaway as well, so please stay tuned. I won The Gilded Lily by Deborah Swift on Darlene's blog, Peeking Between the Pages.

Hi Suko,
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of 'The Gilded Lily', although the author is new to me. The cover image displayed by Amazon when I clicked on your link, is in my opinion, much the more alluring of the two, what did you think? Any book won, is an added bonus and always very welcome though isn't it? you can't help but get a good feeling about it.
Your bookcase is looking good and you still have just a little space left for a few more books, which I am sure you will amply have filled by the end of your stint as 'Mailbox Monday' host!
Thanks for the great book recommendation and for hosting during this busy month.
Yvonne
Yvonne, thanks for participating in Mailbox Monday and for your detailed comment! :)
DeleteI don't have a strong preference for either cover. After I filled this little bookcase, I put numerous books in boxes because I simply couldn't fit them elsewhere. It's probably time to donate some of my books.
That's a very attractive bookshelf! Gilded Lily looks interesting. Thanks for hosting in December!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy The Gilded Lily. I really liked it and Deborah's other book (The Lady's Slipper) as well. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteNice bookcase. Every time I add a new one it instantly fills with books.
ReplyDeleteI received the 7 Years Younger books too and am hoping to look, and more importantly, feel, 7 years younger asap!
Thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting MM this month! I like the look of The Gilded Lily. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThe cover of The Gilded Lily is beautiful - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great shelf. Would work great under my living room window! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great bookcase! Nice job on the assembly :) Enjoy your new books and thanks for hosting MM in December!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at other people's bookcases. Thank you for hosting during a busy month :)
ReplyDeleteGreat mailbox Suko. The Gilded Lily especially sounds like a good one, happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteI like your new bookcase!
I hope you enjoy both books. You're right that MM makes our TBR pile grow! It's fun getting a new bookcase and organizing your books, no? I'm running out of space...
ReplyDeleteThere's very little as satisfying as getting to arrange books on a brand new book shelf. Enjoy your new books this week!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with your bookcase. It looks like the perfect size. Enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteI do love your new bookcase. It would be great to put a few plants on in front of the window as well.
DeleteThanks for hosting MM in December.
Diane, a plant or two on top of the bookcase is a wonderful idea, as long as I'm careful about watering. :) (I had a couple of items on the bookcase, but I took them off because they didn't photograph well.)
DeleteWhat a great bookcase......love it.
ReplyDeleteThe Gilded Lily sounds good...enjoy your books.
THANKS for hosting this month.

My Mailbox Monday
Thank you for hosing this month! I've had my eye on The Gilded Lily for a while. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Mailbox Monday this week. Your bookcase looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking books! I had to do the same thing for my TBRs...get a shelf for the bedroom...and then another one for the office.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're hosting this month! I'll be anxious to see what tips you cull from Seven Years Younger.
ReplyDeleteAh, the dreaded piles of books - taller than my five foot three inches, I now can't reach the top of mine. Shelves would be great but alas there is no room.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great selection of books, The Gilded Lily looks great.
Thank you for hosting MM this month. Your books are "new to me". Love the bookcase!!!! My MM is here: http://cmashlovestoread.com/2012/12/03/monday-memes-133/
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to read The Gilded Lily too. Not sure about 7 Years Younger? If I followed the plan and looked 7 years younger, would I have to act 7 years younger, would I have to go back to work, would I have to relive the last 7 years??? HHMMMMM??? MY POST IS HERE
ReplyDeleteI love that small bookcase, and you are not only a reader, but a carpenter as well. The Gilded Lady looks like an interesting book. As far as my looking 7 years younger, I don't think so...
ReplyDeleteSuko, I am so sorry the first linky thingy I tried came out wrong, I got it right the second time. It seems I always get those linky thingys wrong. Sorry.
I really loved The Gilded Lily -- super exciting, interesting, evocative -- I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThe Gilded Lady sounds awesome!!! Here is my MM http://stepintofiction.blogspot.com/2012/12/mailbox-mondays-26.html?m=1
ReplyDeleteYour new bookcase is really nice - you even have space on top of it to put more books! (you know, to sort of clutter your uncluttering! ;) )
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books!
Kay, you are right! I could put a pair of book ends on top, for more books! :)
DeleteNice bookcase! The Gilded Lily sounds good. I'll try to join your Mailbox Monday next week. Since I basically just get freebies for my e-readers, I didn't keep track of what I got last week. I will this week, though.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one that feels guilty about the piles of books everywhere around my house. I'm running out of room! My large bookcase in my bedroom is double stacked with piles on top and next to it. I've been holding back on accepting new review requests in an attempt to "try" to catch up a bit. This past week I did receive a copy of a Georgette Heyer by Jennifer Kloester. I love Georgette Heyer and could not resist. I'll be hosting an author guest blog and giveaway for it in January :-)
ReplyDeleteOh man, that little book case wouldn't hold all the books that I've gotten over the last few months! I am overwhelmed by the reading material, and no time to read it! It's funny how fast they come in. Enjoy your wins and your new bookcase over there, my friend!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books. I like the new bookcase. Sometimes a small one just fits where you need it to.
ReplyDeleteMy books arrived via my going Christmas shopping and getting myself a couple items while shopping for others!! Audio version of Jo Nesbo's The Snowman found on sale, in preparation for driving by myself from Louisiana to Virginia for Christmas. The second for me: The Tipping Point, by Malcolm Gladwell. I do a lot of volunteer work in my historic neighborhood and I'm interested in how we might reach a "tipping point" in some of our endeavors. I have so many books in my llbrary on TBR list that I could be locked in my house for years and not run out of books to read!
ReplyDeleteEdit: library
DeleteLove the bookcase. I have a spot in my house that would be perfect for one that size. Thanks for hosting Mailbox Monday!
ReplyDelete2 Kids and Tired Books MM
It's funny how some weeks there are a few books in my box, and others there are none. I'm actually getting to prefer the later so I don't feel so overwhelmed in what I'm 'required' to review. The 7 Years Younger looks fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice looking bookcase, Suko. I have a small one like it but wish it had more shelves! Most of my bookshelves are downstairs too.
ReplyDeleteThe Gilded Lily has been getting great reviews. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThe Gilded Lily looks so good. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments! More are welcomed of course. Your comments are definitely contributions to this post.
ReplyDeleteMy new little bookcase doesn't really make a dent in my TBR stacks, but it did impel me to put many books in boxes and clear out some of the clutter!
I've enjoyed hosting Mailbox Monday and look forward to next week's meme.
That's a cute bookshelf! Happy reading, and thanks for hosting this month!
ReplyDeleteOooo I like your new bookcase! The bookcase I don't yet have is already full LOL! I have books everywhere right now, under the bed, in the dining room you name it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those new books. ;-)
xoxo,
Renee
I've heard good things about The Gilded Lily. I hope you enjoy all of these!
