I read them to my boys a few years ago, and now that Penelope is four, we are starting over and currently reading Little House in the Big Woods.Laura's Reviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13904763940307902364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011304218892238385.post-28526028854457782922008-05-05T09:23:00.000-07:002008-05-05T09:23:00.000-07:00I'd like that, Lori. They were letters written to her when she travelled to the World Exposition in SF. I was intrigued with the descriptions of what was on display, in particular the Tower of Jewels. Would you like to exchange West from Home and The Mulvaneys for a couple of weeks?lorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01211226082805679322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011304218892238385.post-87639403122386854782008-05-04T13:33:00.000-07:002008-05-04T13:33:00.000-07:00Karen, you have given the kids so many wonderful b...Karen, you have given the kids so many wonderful books over the years, and I thank you! Walk Two Moons had me crying and laughing all in one book. I loved Salamanca's grandparents. I am currently finishing The Giver by Lois Lowry (Newberry) and it is a thinker! Recently some teen books have caught my attention, specifically a series called Twilight by Stephanie Myers. It is this whole vampires and werewolf deal which is outside my genre of choice but fabulous. It is amazing how book talks lead to more reading which leads to more book talks and so on. Oliver mentioned Stephen King to Shanell a few years back and she is now devouring everything he ever wrote...all from a book talk!karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10016132901253357167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011304218892238385.post-63594088181642156302008-05-03T22:04:00.000-07:002008-05-03T22:04:00.000-07:00Christie, thanks for your comments! I'm enjoying writing my blog and truly appreciate your comments--how boring if I had a one-way conversation with myself! <BR/> I read Where the Red Fern Grows, too, as a child, and am sure I'd enjoy reading it again. There is so much classic children's literature out there.Sukohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11893742747135555499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011304218892238385.post-67592355331975253832008-05-03T21:54:00.000-07:002008-05-03T21:54:00.000-07:00Love the Little House Books..read them as a child ...Love the Little House Books..read them as a child and as an adult. Because Kindle is wireless, you can read anywhere, anytime. Kindle is supposed to be easier to read than actual book pages.Sukohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11893742747135555499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011304218892238385.post-23570253324321039022008-05-03T13:04:00.000-07:002008-05-03T13:04:00.000-07:00Susan, have you thought about how technology might...Susan, have you thought about how technology might change how we read? Already the internet gives us a lot of choices, and Amazon has a new reading electronic device called the Kindle, which I heard was selling quite well. Your thoughts?Rudyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05000083932741779202noreply@blogger.com
