Really Random Tuesday #9: New Books and My Space

Welcome to the ninth "edition" of Really Random Tuesday!

But first, am I too late for Mailbox Monday? This month, Avis from She Reads and Reads is hosting this meme, which was created by Marcia from The Printed Page. I realized that I'd better post this now--before too many more books (and links!) accumulate. (I hope it's okay to mix memes from different days of the week.) Pictured are the new books I've recently acquired.

I couldn't resist getting the second book in the Outlander series, Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon, because I enjoyed Outlander so much. A friend gave me Harry, Revised by Mark Sarvas as a gift. Everything I Never Wanted to Be by Dina Kucera arrived for an upcoming TLC tour. Both Anasazi Intrigue and Mayan Intrigue are new books by author Linda Weaver Clarke. The author sent me complimentary copies to review. It has been perfect reading weather lately, cool and quite stormy, and I'm looking forward to reading all of these books. I also won some really good coffee from a giveaway hosted by a terrific blog, Teresa's Reading Corner.

Here's a snapshot of my computer desk, where I currently blog. As you can see in this photo the area around the keyboard is clear, but there's a lot of paper and other stuff nearby. It's not too terribly cluttered, though. How is your blogging space?

Really Random Tuesday is a way to post odds and ends--announcements, musings, quotes, photos--any blogging and book-related things you can think of. If you're inspired by this idea, feel free to copy a button and use it on your own blog. Please leave a link in the comments if you’re participating. Be sure to stop by Serendipity for Vivienne's Really Random Tuesday post this week, for fun photos and more.

  2. Suko, I am running away with this meme aren't I. LOL.
YOur desk looks so much cleaner than mine. I haven't read Outlander yet, I hope to read it soon. I love your mosaic candle holder - just the sort of thing I like to have. I have a red one.

  3. My computer is a laptop, so it sets on my lap desk on my lap. A lot of lap used in that last sentence. I also have a nightlight with the same mosaic colors as your candle holder. It's a small world. Happy reading this week, I see you have a lot of new books just waiting to be read.

  4. Of course it's okay to mix memes - it's your blog after all! My space is more cluttered than I'd like to admit.

  5. I like to think my blog space is organized chaos. =)

Gramma Ann, thank you for stopping by. It's a nice time of the year for candles and books.

Chelle, organized chaos has a nice ring to it. :)

Naida, thank you. I hope you will do RRT again (when the time is right for you). Thanks so much for stopping by.

Kathy, it would be interesting to see other bloggers' spaces (such as yours). You are probably quite organized.

  8. Heya, it's definitely not too late to do a Random Tuesday Mailbox Monday post! Oh and you don't want to see the state of my desk (which is actually considerably less cluttered than it's been in the past, but definitely way more cluttered than yours)!

  9. I'm a real 'a place for everything and everything it it's place' type of person so my computer space is always tidy.

  10. ahhh.. my work desk, were i work, blog, eat and sometimes feed the baby is full of so many things by the end of the day... that i hate my disorganized self LOL! It right now has - apart from the computer - a mug of hot water, 3 wrappers of chocolates (my weakness), todays newspaper, baby's old medicines ( i need to dispose) LOL! and loads of other stuff! Now u know, why i never take a pic of this area :)

Some real good books and some good coffee for the terrific reading soul :)

Have a good week ahead and I will be doing this meme nxt week :)

  11. looks like your blogging space is pretty tidy. I do my blogging all over the house, so I have piles everywhere.

  12. You are going to love Dragonfly in Amber! Claire and Jaine get into some really interesting situations in that one, and I think it had to be one of my favorites out of the bunch. The next one was good too. I am almost all the way to the end of the series of those books, and only have a couple left to read. For me, they are like literary crack.

As far as my blogging space goes, I blog from the couch on my laptop, so I don't really have a dedicated space, per se, but I do have little piles of stuff (mostly books) all over the tables surrounding me!

  13. My computer space is horribly cluttered and always a mess. I have to share with the whole family so it makes for a crowded space. I have Outlander here and hope to get to it someday. Everyone loves it! Of course you can mix memes. I think I have done a Mailbox Monday post on a Tuesday before too. Oooo... that coffee sounds delicious!

  14. My computer space looks pretty similar to yours. I call it controlled chaos. ;) The only difference is my desk is a "computer cabinet," which means I can close the doors on the mess at the end of the day.

  15. I really must get myself started on the Outlander series everyone says it's awesome!

That coffee looks yummy! Congrats on winning it!

    XOXO~ Renee

  16. I blog on my reclining sofa, and the side table next to my seat has become cluttered with books...and the hubby isn't too happy about it. LOL I love how neat and organized your space looks.

    Enjoy your new books!

  18. Thanks for all the comments. My computer desk is fairly neat, but I have stacks and stacks of books that could use a little help! :)
