Dogs and Their People: Spotlight & Giveaway

They seem to be everywhere these days, out on walks and runs, at outdoor cafés, in some stores, on our blogs, and in our homes.  They have sweet names, and even sweeter faces.  Whether they are beautiful, ridiculously cute, or downright silly, dogs provide companionship and unconditional love to those who care for them.  Many of us cannot resist the charms of dogs, myself included.  I am crazy about dogs!  Madeline from Putnam contacted me this week about a new book that will be published on October 18, 2016, Dogs and Their People: Photos and Stories of Life with a Four-Legged Love by the humans at BarkPost.  Featuring many photos and stories, this book is a celebration of the extraordinary bond between people and their dogs.  I'm excited about the prospect of reading this book, and thrilled to offer a giveaway of this book to a lucky reader!

But first, before the giveaway, here are some photos from my fellow book bloggers.  Aren't these dogs darling?!

Dogs have always had a special place in my heart. Last year I lost my husband and went into a deep depression. Eight months later I lost my dog Patches who I'd had for 17 years, and the depression got even worse. I never thought I'd own another dog because of the pain of the loss. But my son kept telling me I needed one to keep me company so I started looking. After about 3 months I found Kaiyo and fell in love at first sight. She was a puppy mill survivor and was as broken as I was. Together we are helping each other heal. I love her so much and am so thankful my son convinced me to look for another dog. I'm very Blessed to have found the perfect dog for me.

  9. What beautiful pictures of dogs - I could look at them all day! I love my two old dogs. One is a Keeshond and the other is a mutt. They are both 13 and slowing down, but still full of love.

  10. I love dogs, and Sonia is my husband and daughter's dog really. I wasn't ready for a new dog after I lost my beloved Keeshond. But she's such a goofball, it's hard not to love her. Looks like she's the biggest dog of all those ones submitted!

Sonia loves to do dog yoga where she's nearly upside down against the wall with her body twisted and her eyes closed. Not sure how that's relaxing though.
